In order to create new purple strains there will have to be two different strains (at least one purple strain) which seem like a good combination. Usually the person crossing the two strains will look at certain characteristics. For instance, if one strain is known for producing huge buds but only has an average potency it might be mixed with a lower yielding but higher potency strain. Crossing strains can end up giving you an even more potent strain.

Sometimes the cross strains are only available at certain seed banks as they may have been created by that particular seed bank. The more popular cross strains are easily available for purchase at most established seed banks online and you shouldn’t have any difficulties finding purple strains like Purple Haze, Purple Power, or Purple Skunk.

Always remember to look at the information on the strain before buying any seeds. Once a new strain is created the qualities of the strain will be unique to just that strain. The crossing of the two previous strains may have caused the result to be a strain which is only capable of growing successfully outdoors and vice versa. Make sure before you buy a strain with little popularity that you understand it’s an experimental investment.
